In a previous post, I discussed making money as an Amazon affiliate. In today’s post I want to talk about another affiliate program, one that I have had a fair amount of success using, Linkshare.
Linkshare has tons of prominent companies and products for you to sell. In fact, I was actually quite surprised by how many there were to choose from. For instance, iTunes is a company you can be an affiliate for, which is an excellent option if your content happens to be in the music, book, or media business.
There are hundreds and hundreds of affiliate programs. As with most things, it pays to diversify. By having more than one affiliate company, you are able to add more items to your bank, and increase your chances of earning.
One of the reasons I enjoy affiliate programs through Linkshare is the higher commissions they offer. Now, it varies between products and programs, but for the most part, the commissions range from 10-25%. One of my best-selling products retails only for $15.00, but I always make just more than $5 per unit – 30%! Best of all, it cost me NOTHING to join.
One of the ways that I consistently earn extra income is by always including a product or an item in my content. If it is an article about skin care, I’ll promote a skin care product. If the article is about a software program, I’ll add a link to a product that fits. Either way, when you can find a way to naturally include an affiliate product, it will make you extra money.
Affiliate products often earn more than articles, and if you market them correctly (meaning, make sure they actually FIT the content), they can be a cash cow. Don’t miss out on extra income because you didn’t sign up for something that was free and easy to use.
