In my post about sites that pay you to write, I mentioned many places where you can post your own content and get paid for it. Many article writers think that the best way to start earning money is to simply put their articles out on every site. This is often referred to as using “duplicate content.”
It sounds like it would work. After all, each site has different viewers who might click on different ads or order affiliate merchandise, right? Well, yes, that is true. But as positive as duplicate content might seem, the reality is that using content this way will actually hurt your money-earning potential.
But how? Well, here’s the thing. The search engines look out for their readers, not the content producers. Google, Yahoo, MSN – they all want their readers to be happy. So when they see the same content on many pages, they flag it as spam. It is not valuable to their readers. It is not unique.
In the next few posts, I am going to talk about easy ways to multiply content without creating duplicate content. Though it does take some effort, the methods I use do not take a lot of extra work and allow you to create at least three articles from one batch of research.
