Windows, GNOME and KDE keys for cut and pastin...

If you are following along with my posts for the last week or so, I’ve talked about the sites that pay you to write, but I have also warned against the copy-and-paste method of duplicate content.  Because the last thing I want you to do (at least as far as article writing goes!) is sign up for all sorts of writing programs and then shoot yourself in the foot.

Yesterday I wrote about one way to rewrite articles and today I am going to talk about my favorite way to rewrite articles.Just for the sake of example, I went to eHow and searched their database for “How to Write Articles.”  It came back with more than 26,000 pieces of content.  And other than this telling me that the last thing I need to write for eHow is an article on how to write for eHow, it perfectly demonstrates that the same thing can be written about over and over again without duplicating content.

So, my readers, here is the way I rewrite my articles.  It actually works surprisingly well, and once you do it two or three times, it becomes wonderfully fast.

  1. Open up Notepad, or whatever software you use, and write an article, just as you always would, from start to finish.
  2. Then, a couple spaces below, rewrite the title of the article twice.
  3. Then rewrite the next paragraph twice.
  4. Repeat with every other paragraph.

Those are the steps and it is easy to do.  But I don’t just want to leave you hanging with that, I want to spell it out for you.  For the sake of space,  I am not going to write out a long article, but I will rewrite a section of one of my posts about The Niche Blogger.  That way you can see how a rewrite really works.

The original paragraph from the original Niche Blogger post:

Niche blogs are a great way to earn money online. What is so great about Amy’s site, is that it actually delivers niche blog training that is WORTH something. So many sites are cheap scams full of half-baked promises. The Niche Blogger not only gives you a day-by-day assignment list that makes creating a niche blog easy, there is an online forum where you can bounce ideas off of other niche bloggers.

Here is rewrite one:

Niche blogs are one of the easiest ways to make money online.  The reason Amy’s site is such a great resource is because she provides training that actually delivers on the promises.  Her program is not a scam or full of broken promises.  The Niche Blogger breaks everything down into a day-by-day list of tasks to accomplish for your niche blog.  It is easy to follow, with videos and an active online forum of other niche bloggers to help you out.

Let’s rewrite it again:

A great way to earn money online is by creating niche blogs.  Amy’s site is great because her niche blog training is actually worth something, unlike a lot of the cheap-looking sites with scams and promises of getting rich overnight.  Not only does The Niche Blogger system break down tasks into daily, monthly, and weekly tasks,  it does so with step-by-step instructions complete with videos to walk you through everything.  There is also an online forum where you can meet and learn from other niche bloggers.

See how they all say the same thing without saying the same thing? Truthfully, I could keep going, and sometimes I will, depending on the topic.   I personally like to rewrite paragraph by paragraph instead of rewriting an entire article and then doing it all over it again.  Breaking it down into sections makes it easy and seems less daunting.

When I have finished rewriting the entire article, I paste together the new paragraphs into two more complete articles and I submit them to the other sites.  Rewriting articles this way takes about 10 minutes per article, depending on length and your speed, which makes writing a lot easier.

Happy writing!
