Affiliate marketing is an easy way for people to monetize blogs. But the problem is that there are many affiliate programs available, and it can be overwhelming to try and figure out where to begin.
One of the most popular affiliate programs is the Amazon Associates program. Amazon Associates is easy, and it is a good introduction to affiliate marketing. Additionally, Amazon.com has so many products available, they can literally provide an affiliate marketing product for everyone. Whether it is a book or another item, even a grocery item, Amazon.com has something that any online writer can use to add to their passive income stream.
With Amazon’s affiliate program, you can create text links, carousel widgets, and even use their program to create a store for your website. One of the advantages to signing up with Amazon is that they are a well-known website. Many people already have an Amazon.com account and they feel comfortable making purchases from a reputable vendor.
Here are some of the ways I successfully use Amazon Associates in my daily writing to earn additional income:
- Strategically embed a link to an Amazon product in an article, as long as it works with my content.
- Strategically embed a link to an Amazon page containing a variety of products in one category that may appeal to the readers of my content.
- Use Yahoo! Answers to answer the questions people have and direct them to product that Amazon sells to offer them a solution.
- List links to Amazon products in the “Resources” section of any article templates I might use that have them, such as eHow.com.
Remember, with Amazon Affiliates, it doesn’t matter if the customer buys the specific item that was used in the link. It just matters that they buy something. For me, I rarely ever sell the specific item I have included in the link. In my case, most people will enter Amazon through my links, but buy something else entirely. And as long as they buy something after using my link to get there, I make money.
